This seems to be the case with both the TL-WN823N(US)_V3_160315_Linux and the newer beta TL-WN823N(US)_V3_180508_Linux_beta drivers. When I try to run make, the first few files compile OK, and then I get lots of errors about incompatible pointer types and undeclared constants(?). Which again, if I remember correctly Atheros is a fairly sure thing when it comes to supporting monitor mode and injection.

The kernel is: 3.10.0-1062.18.1.el7.x86_64 Version 1 and 2 use a combination of atheros chipsets if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, I'm trying to compile the source, although I'm not very experienced with compiling kernel modules. The manufacturer website has source code to download, but the instructions are for Debian-type distros only. I haven't had any luck in finding any rpm packages for the WiFi driver (are there any?). I have been issued with the following USB WiFi dongle:Īlthough lsusb detects the dongle, the Gnome WiFi setup tool doesn't seem to see it. I have been asked to setup a desktop computer running Scientific Linux 7.6 (our supported distro), but this computer will be needed to be able to connect to the internet using WiFi, rather than ethernet.
